Litigation for Animal Welfare (LAW) is a unique combination of legal defense fund and education initiative focused on expanding and codifying the rights of animals and perfecting animal welfare.

The litigation side of the organization includes high-impact legislation designed to establish legal precedents for animal rights, a referral service for individuals seeking to protect their animals in legal battles, and a legal research think tank which includes some of the top animal welfare, legal minds in the country.

The education side of the organization focuses on bringing animal rights cases to public attention, educating people as to their rights and responsibilities as animal owners, and creating pathways for the public to express their support of animal welfare in an impactful way.

Combined, these two sides work with organizations globally to ensure that the rights of animals are protected and that animal welfare is enshrined in society.

Our mission is achieved in five ways:

1. Litigation - LAW defends animals and their owners in existing legal cases and files impactful lawsuits against people and organizations harming animals.

2. Public Information and Education - LAW promotes public information through the media by broadcasting the plight of abused and in-danger animals and exposing organizations, and individuals who are benefiting from animal cruelty. We also create and promote diverse educational initiatives through elementary, high school, and college level programs.

3. Legal Referrals - LAW works with an ever expanding network of lawyers who are dedicated to perfecting their animal defense cases.

4. Activism Advice - LAW provides guidance for animal rights activists and advocates to ensure that their work is effective and lawful.

5. Rescue Resources - LAW provides resources for animal rescues and sanctuaries to help ensure legal and ethical compliance and that they meet and exceed best practices standards.
